Spring 2020

$75K of grocery gift cards to help families put food on the table at the pandemic's outset

We scrapped our planned Spring Giving campaign and volunteering event (originally themed 'Getting to Know Nature' and asked nonprofits how we could best support
We pivoted to a grocery drive called 'Apart, but Together', where each child received got grocery gift cards and an item they could play with at home during the pandemic
We helped families have over $75K worth of food during the month of April and May, and companies were able to be immediately responsive to the pandemic

Summer 2020

Debut of 'Daymaker Discovery Bundles' to help kids thrive in an altered learning environment

We again asked nonprofits what would be helpful during an altered learning environment; the most consistent need we could address was helping kids stay engaged and inspired in a way that didn't require using more technology
We put our heads together and launched the Daymaker Discovery Bundles - monthly kits that centered a different theme with activities and content celebrating diverse heroes in that field (e.g., Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Guion Bluford)
We packaged these items on wishlists as a four-month subscription, so kids could have something to look forward to throughout the fall
They were the best-selling items during the Back-to-School campaign, with over $100K donated
Through the experience we learned more about the value of consistent support from outside the home that lets kids know they are seen, loved, and supported.

Holiday 2020

A celebration of sharing joy with kids during a difficult holiday season

Our new partnership with SmallBites Adventure Club led to the co-creation of 'Farm-to-Home Explorer Kits' that help teach kids about healthy food & where food came from. Each kit was delivered monthly into the new year.
We also added a 'Nonprofit Delivery & Logistics' item to wishlists to help our NPs get items in families' hands before the Holidays - which often meant renting trucks to do delivery!
We made the 'Our Partners' Path' video that celebrated the human connection of potential and support for what we're doing for kids and nonprofits:
Every kid was helped with full holiday wishlists - 4,336 children total! And many also had full sets of Farm-to-Home Kit and Daymaker Discovery Bundles purchased
We wrapped 2020 with over $1M donated to nonprofits, and we're just getting started.

B2S 2021

Prioritizing representation in all facets of what Daymaker delivers

We added 75 new book titles that tie directly to the interests of kids across the country and prioritize diverse representation, so wishlists are more tailored than ever
We launched a product partnership with Brown Toy Box and featured their their STEAM kits - centering Black characters for themed boxes like Zoology, Astronomy, Coding & App Development, and Chemistry
Over 2,350 kids got backpacks, school supplies, and unique items delivered to get the school year started right!
