Content & Storytelling Manager

Remote or Atlanta, GA

Overview:

Daymaker is seeking a high-performing, heart-centered creator to lead Content & Storytelling for our growing startup.

Background on Daymaker and the need:

Daymaker is an online giving platform, and our mission is to share joy by creating possibilities for children. We believe in giving as a vehicle for us to promote our individual and collective well-being while transferring resources so every kid has the potential to lead a life of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. Our giving platform lets companies run seasonal giving campaigns like Back-to-School and Holidays that enable employees to purchase holistic items for specific children supported by local nonprofit partners.

We worked with over 70 companies last year supporting 68 nonprofits across the US and Canada, ranging from local programs of national organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs, to hyper-local organizations like Hand, Heart & Soul Project in Atlanta. We make a multi-year commitment to empower the children served by our partners, and strive to tell stories that energize the Daymaker community over time. We’re seeking the right person to lead our content creation efforts as we grow.

The core product that we’re delivering to givers is emotional engagement, and our content & storytelling have to enable that. This person will craft and maintain the Daymaker narrative, sharing both the joy that comes from giving, and the realities of the systems and circumstances that create needs for our services to begin with.

Given that Daymaker enables thousands of givers to send hundreds of thoughtfully-curated products & books to individual children nationwide, there is a treasure trove of potential stories waiting to be told.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Someone who can be the leading voice of the Daymaker brand - a strong storyteller who can connect with both existing customers and those whom we want to welcome into the fold, while bringing to life the different types of stories that fit within the Daymaker narrative
  • A creative with range across platforms and content types - primary content creation will be blogs & email marketing, along with short-form video editing for social media posting
  • An empathetic human who is moved to support nonprofits & children, and is excited to spend time in-person in the communities we serve
  • A self-starter who enjoys collaborative brainstorming, but is also able to lead the full process of ideation, creation, & polishing
  • Someone adept at creating content that’s easy to distribute across different channels, and comfortable managing a coordinator who is executing content distribution
  • Someone with a demonstrated portfolio of having created compelling content professionally and/or personally
  • A fit with our team, which values intentionality, care, partnership, and play

The specifics:

  • You’ll report directly to the CEO, Brent Macon, as a core member of the executive team, functioning as an individual contributor initially with the potential to manage a team over time if that is compelling
  • The role is full-time and can be remote or based in Atlanta; ideal start time is July-August 2022
  • You’ll be compensated competitively, with a stake in the upside created by Daymaker’s success.
  • It’s imperative on many levels that we build a team with a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds
